2011 Scholarship Winners

The Chair of the Scholarship Fund, COL Russ Henderson, presented Scholarship Fund grants to five deserving cadets at the May dinner meeting. The Selection Committee was greatly impressed by the outstanding achievements, poise, and confidence of each of the cadets interviewed. Each cadet demonstrates tremendous promise as a future officer of the United States of America. This year five outstanding cadets were awarded total of $10,000. Listed is the name of the cadet, high school, and school he/she will attend in the fall:

This year’s scholarship recipients were (Left to right in the photograph above.)

Cadet Captain Natasha Patterson, Gar-Field High School, will attend USNA;

Cadet First Lieutenant Dilys Darpoh, Mount Vernon High School, will attend Virginia Women’s Institute for Leadership at Mary Baldwin;

Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Alexandra Hastings, Edison High School, will attend VMI;

Cadet Captain Cesar Carrion, TC Williams High School; will attend VMI; and

Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Chase King, Quantico Middle/High School, will attend the University of Oklahoma.

Of interest to our chapter members who have supported the scholarship fund, the committee reports that as a group these cadets are the best ones they have interviewed. Each of the cadets received a $2,000 scholarship.
